Onderstaande aanbeveling mocht ik ontvangen van Carola Beresford Cooke.  

Carola is de oprichter van het Shiatsu College London en heeft meer dan 40 jaar lesgeven aan deze Shiatsu academie. Daarnaast heeft zij ontelbare bij- en nascholingen gegeven in Europa aan Shiatsu studenten. Ook ik heb het voorrecht gehad met haar te mogen werken en ze heeft zelfs een keer een prachtige bijscholing gegeven in mijn eigen studieruimte. Het boek “Shiatsu en theorie en praktijk” is van haar hand en is een onmisbaar boek voor iedere Shiatsu professional.  

Ik ben bijzonder trots op de aanbeveling Carola. Zij is dé autoriteit op Shiatsu gebied in Europa.

Recommendation for Jitske Dijkstra:

I first met Jitske on a course I gave about ten years ago. A gathering of shiatsu practitioners from different European countries attended and I immediately noticed Jitske's work.

She showed sensitivity and care and mastered the techniques very quickly but what impressed me most was how grounded and safe her work felt.  She knew  what she felt and loved doing what she did and those feelings communicated to her receiver; I thought during the first morning of the course “I would trust that person to give me a great session”.

Years later, we are still in touch and I have seen her extend her practice into teaching and coaching, building a wonderful venue for retreats and courses, and it seems a natural extension of her “calling” to expand into running a professional Shiatsu course.

To all the knowledge she has absorbed from her various teachers and her passionate drive to share it, she adds her own joy in encouraging others to be themselves and a part of nature, which is the true message of East Asian medicine.  

The Shiatsu world needs more inspiring women teachers, more women-led courses and it is with great happiness that I recommend Jitske as one of the most competent and inspired women I know.
